Information about Tracey

With an extensive academic portfolio up to the level of MSc, combined with a highly creative personality, I`m equipped to tutor a variety of subjects and utilize a flexible approach to suit individual learning styles.
My strongest subjects are science and English, and I may especially be able to help students with a focus on creative writing as I am myself an author (my children`s books can be found on Amazon). As a native English speaker I can be of particular assistance to foreign students needing to achieve strong language skills. I have also completed a TEFL certificate, although this was some years ago now.
As my BSc and MSc degrees were heavily science-based, I can teach all the sciences up to GCSE level, and biology up to A-Level. Notable achievements during my university `career` included winning an RSPCA-sponsored scholarship to study at Edinburgh and having my ecological research published in a peer-reviewed journal.
I did not ultimately pursue an academic career - I now work part time at Marwell Zoo in the guest services dept, which allows me the time to focus on my two big passions of writing and art. I`m hoping to add teaching to this.
As someone who is fairly new to tutoring I do not yet have an established `style`, but can assure parents that I`m friendly and patient while also motivated and goal-orientated. I care deeply about helping people to enjoy the success that a good education affords, and to generally fulfill their potential as an individual. Please note I`m happy to tutor up to three students of similar levels in one session, with a supplement of £7 per extra person. This ensures I can cover additional costs associated with preparation time, materials and printing resources.

Availability: Varied from week to week but normally quite good.Evenings are fine too.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I`m quite new to tutoring but quickly gaining experience and repeat student bookings. Currently I`m teaching English and science at Key Stage 3, English at GCSE and literacy/numeracy at KS2.
