I am a 53yr old academic and tutor with an MPhil in Criminology and a BSc in Sociology. I plan on going back to complete my PhD at Derby University in Child Sexual Exploitation. So far, I have 9 years experience as an academic, (student, tutor and teacher), and over 20 years experience working with the community and police forces in England and the West Indies. I have been a specialist in Gun and Knife Crime, Gang and Conflict Reduction and Community Engagement. I have also done work with Crime reduction strategies that work, Public opinion surveys, Staff surveys and Training Evaluation. I have a natural ability with tutoring students and I enjoy working with them at every level. I have a particular fondness for students who may be struggling and need simple explanations and patience to get their work done. I have been described as a "gifted tutor with a caring and considerate nature by my previous colleagues". I care about my students and I want to be able to help.
Availability: Right now I am available from 9am to 12 noon, then from 1pm to 5pm and from 8pm to 10pm every day except when I have to do research or may have to attend lectures or other work. I am flexible give me a call or e mail and we will sort out if I can help.

Experience: Worked at University level lecturing and tutoring in my specialist areas of Sociology, Criminology, Social Psychology, Psychology, Methods of Social Investigation, White collar crime, understanding official statistics, Sociology of Education/Development, Caribbean Social Structure, The Dark figure of Crime and Crime Victim Surveys. Research interests include Understanding Caribbean Personality, Victimology, Addiction Theory, Child Sexual Exploitation and Desistence. I have also thought A` Level Sociology and worked with SEND students with behavioural problems and those on the Autistic Spectrum and acted as a Cover Supervisor for schools around the Sheffield and the Chesterfield area. I am happy to work with students on any project or essay they need help with and Key stage 3 Mathematics, Business Studies. Geography and Science. By the way I studied Macbeth for literature if you would like to get help there.
