Information about Sheyamali
I’m a second year undergraduate at the London School of Economics, where I’m studying for a BSc in Economics. I achieved 8 A*s at GCSEs and As and A*s in Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Further Maths and Maths at A-Level.
I am a really friendly person and can get along with anyone and everyone. I believe it’s important for a tutor to be able to make a student feel comfortable and at ease, so they’re not embarrassed to request help or ask any questions they might have.
I previously studied at Woodford County Grammar School, where I was a senior prefect and represented my school in athletics. In my spare time, I’m a keen swimmer and jogger. I also paint and have been featured in local newspapers for my artwork.
I do my best to establish a positive relationship with my students and identify ways in which to capture and retain their interest, particularly when covering more difficult materials. I believe attitude is critical to success in learning, so keeping my students motivated and energised plays a large role in my tutoring strategy.
I take a step-by-step approach to teaching challenging concepts, and consistently review previous materials throughout the course of the year to ensure topics remain fresh up until the exam. I also like to apply more abstract concepts to real world examples, to consolidate their understanding.
Availability: Wednesday, Thursday, Sat
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have worked at two local primary schools for over a year now, assisting with Maths, English and Science. Whilst there I realised the importance of being able to engage with your students and ensuring foundational knowledge is in place, before moving into more advanced topic areas.
I also mentored students from my old school, Woodford County Grammar School, helping them to achieve their goals, whether academic, social or otherwise.
