Hi!

My name is Josh. I am an a native English teacher with over 5 years English language and literature teaching experience. I have experience teaching ALL levels, from absolute beginner to advanced including business English and English literature. I also have extensive experience with IELTS.

I am an advanced Mandarin Chinese speaker, and I have recently finished an MA in Chinese Studies at SOAS University in London.

I have taught in the UK, France, Taiwan, and Russia. During this time I have taught large classes in schools, and also individual and small groups of professional adults in large corporations. I believe that lessons should be tailored to the student`s specific needs, and that it is important to allow students to speak as much as possible.

My lessons are fun and interactive! I make use of many resources, including literature, radio, television, and film. The student has the option to follow text books, or to use what I call `real-life resources` such as newspaper articles and literature. Most of my students choose to combine material from both!

I truly love teaching, and I believe my methods are highly effective because my students are never bored, and are constantly speaking throughout the lesson. Moreover, I am a language student myself, currently doing a masters in Chinese Studies. I study Russian and Mandarin, and I understand what constitutes a good lesson.

I have worked in private one-to-one classes with professional business persons, and also small-large classes of adults in the same area. I also have extensive experience teaching in secondary and primary schools.
