Hello! I am an experienced Secondary School Maths Teacher with a Grade Distinction in my PGCE. I have over 8 years of teaching experience in the classroom and a First Class Honours in my Mathematics (BSc) Degree. I have taught across KS3, GCSE and AS Level Maths at all attainment levels. My teaching style is engaging, well-paced, supportive and dynamic.

I have knowledge of the Edexcel GCSE Exam Board and AS Level Pure Maths. I enjoy tutoring as I`ve always had a passion for building an understanding of Maths and making it accessible at all levels. I enjoy the problem solving aspects of Maths and encourage students to delve into breaking down a problem and finding creative solutions, as well as securing the foundations.

A typical lesson will check for understanding of prior knowledge, develop and secure new skills with sufficient time to practice and explore concepts, as well as the opportunity to extend on those skills. To allow for lesson content to be accessible, I have found ways to adapt the learning through use of a range of resources that can scaffold as well as stretch and challenge. As well as through effective questioning, to enhance conceptualised understanding.

Experience: I have been qualified with a PGCE in Secondary School Mathematics since June 2016, and have eight and a half years of experience in teaching across KS3, KS4 and KS5 Maths. I’ve had the role of Lead Practitioner for Early Years Maths and organised the UKMT Maths Challenges and Herts for Learning Maths challenges. I’ve been involved in Mastery teaching programmes and various online CPD to develop problem solving skills and to enhance pedagogy in Maths teaching.
