Based in Lowestoft on the east coast of England, I am a UK-qualified teacher who has been hosting and teaching young people and adults for many years. I have an up-to-date DBS certificate, my own transport and a clean driving license. In November 2014 I obtained a CELTA certificate and now spend my work time teaching English as a Foreign Language. Along with my wife, I run weekly classes for adult learners and also host and tutor younger students. My wife is a UK qualified primary school teacher who also tutors non-English students. She mainly helps children with general English and preparation for SATS tests. She is particularly skilled in improving literacy and teaching phonics. She has lots of resources to make lessons both fun and challenging.

Availability: I have a car and can travel to your home if required.
I have some availability weekdays and weekends, daytimes and evenings.

Experience: I commenced secondary school teaching in 2001 offering Business Studies as a main subject and ICT as secondary. I have taught English Language to foreign individual and small groups of students since 2015. My wife has over 30 years experience working in UK primary schools, teaching in Early Years, Key Stage 1 & 2. She especially enjoys Literacy and has been involved in various innovations in school, the latest ones being the introduction of a Letters and Sounds Phonic scheme and changing learning to a topic based approach. She has taught English to students with a range of primary languages including Chinese and Arabic as well as from countries in Europe.
