Information about Zoya
I work with adults and children who may lack confidence in learning, who need support with maths and English, or who may have aspects of autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, dyspraxia or Tourette`s syndrome.
I support both individuals and those around them in managing these conditions/qualities.
I help people to overcome their fears of learning.
I am eclectic and practical, drawing on a wealth of hands-on and theoretical experience.
Availability: My availability varies according to need. I am flexible.
Students usually come to me, as I live in a quiet cottage amongst hills without distractions.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: My doctoral studies explored confidence building and motivation within education, looking at how people could learn at their best and how I could meet their educational needs as a tutor.
I am a trainer and tutor in ADHD, Asperger syndrome, dyspraxia, Tourette`s syndrome and dyscalculia.
I teach maths and English functional skills, general studies, communication skills.
I currently support a 6 year old boy with special needs, two ten year old girls who lack confidence in learning, a 14 year old boy with a dyscalculia
statement and a 16 year old autistic boy with dyspraxia.
I teach in a children`s home, and also support staff with their learning.
I am a mentor at Bangor University.
In the past I was the educational consultant for St. Mary`s Hospital in Warrington, for people with brain injuries and those on the autistic spectrum.
I have worked with ParentLink, supporting families who have children with special needs.
I have been a governor at Bournemouth University, supporting students with particular needs and helping some to develop confidence.
