Hi I`m B.
I`m an expert teacher with over 15 years` experience in the UK and in Asia. Over the years I have successfully taught History, Business and Religious Studies. I use a wide range of teaching strategies to allow all students to access material they find challenging. I`ve got excellent interpersonal skills and I`m super fun with it.
As well as being a qualified teacher, I am also CELTA qualified and have lots of experience teaching English as a Second Language. I also taught Business and Global Perspectives in English but to students whose first language was not English (Vietnamese, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, French, Romanian, Thai). I therefore have a deep understanding of language as a barrier and how to overcome it.
I delivered online lessons for 4 months in Vietnam during the schools closures and now know how to use technology to further enhance the learning experience.
I am an expert examiner for Edexcel, with a comprehensive understanding of exam techniques and knowing what the examiner is looking for. This has proven to be a really useful resource for students that I have taught over the years.
I am also studying myself and am in my final year of an MA in Education, Gender and International Development student at The Institute of Education at UCL. I love studying and it has reminded me of some of the challenges students face! It has given me an in-depth understanding of education theories from around the world and how important education is.
