Information about Marie
Children`s author of two adventure stories aimed at KS2, and with this I have the honour of being the Patron of Reading at my former primary school. I run creative writing workshops with primary school children during World Book Week every March.
With a psychology degree, qualifications to teach yoga, life and business coaching, I am experienced in teaching different age groups and levels of organisations. My coaching experience and lengthy home working career make remote teaching and working for easy for me.
I am quick to build a rapport with both children and adults. I find it easy to assess needs and build a plan to move forward and achieve end goals for my students to achieve what they set out to achieve. I am specifically skilled at supporting people to overcome obstacles, with a mix of compassion for understanding difficulties and my application of practical tips and tools to overcome the problem. I am both considerate and kind, focused and assertive in working towards the reason coaching or tutoring is required. My students always feel safe, supported, and informed with all they need to succeed. I have recently moved out of London to a more rural location and find myself in a position to add one-to-one tutoring to my offering. I can provide references from the schools I work in.
Availability: Flexible availability between 10am-8pm, Mon-Saturday, as I can make my other working arrangements fit around you.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I graduated in 2002 from Royal Holloway, University of a London with a 2:1 BSc degree in psychology and moved into research and project roles within a business consulting unit in local government. From there, I have worked as a business analyst and project manager on IT projects in the UK, Australia and Canada. I am self employed, which has allowed me to train as a yoga teacher and I am both a life and corporate coach. My flexible work structure has afforded me time outside contracts to write three poetry books, the two aforementioned children`s books, and most recently, a self-help coaching workbook for women 18+. I run supporting workshops and host a podcast show along the same format.
