Information about Cheran

I have finished my International Politics degree at King`s College London achieving a 2:1 grade (Upper Second Class Honours). I am based in Rayners Lane (Harrow) but am willing to travel.

I believe I am the right person to tutor you as I have invaluable experience. I have taught Maths and English both as a private tutor and at a Saturday school. I had served as a teaching assistant to a private tutor prior to this.

I take great passion in teaching as I am committed to improving my tutees, offering them new ways of thinking and approaching the challenges their subject offers. Furthermore I see it as an opportunity to teach in a manner which encourages the student to learn in an enjoyable way, seeking to make students want to apply themselves beyond the limits they may believe are in place. As a highly motivated individual who places emphasis on self-improvement and discipline, I want students to make the best of themselves and to go above and beyond the targets they have for their studies. These are the values I embodied as a student. Moreover given that I am a recent graduate I feel I understand vividly what works learning-wise for a student and what does not, and so am well placed to help my tutees.

In addition to my teaching experience and academic focus, I believe my volunteer work for MENCAP and Harrow Mentoring Project, as well as my participation in competitive team sports over the years, has made me an empathetic individual sensitive to the needs of others and able to generate good chemistry with others. In this way I believe I am able to generate a good teaching relationship with students and set an environment that allows the student to flourish.
