I am a qualified teacher with experience in early years, key stage 1 and 2. I have experience working as an in-school tutor as well as a private tutor. In schools, I worked with a number of students to improve their reading, writing and mathematical skills up to year 6. I also worked with a gifted and talented year 5 pupil to extend his learning in mathematics, as he was working at level 6. He enjoyed being pushed at working on GCSE style questions and preparing for his Mensa test.

I have extensive experience working as a tutor in students` homes. I have worked with children who had newly arrived into the UK, and needed to be educated at home whilst awaiting a place within a school. I also have experience in educating children with special educational needs, within their own homes or within their care homes. The subjects I taught were Mathematics and English grammar and punctuation.

I am currently tutoring year 5 students for their 11+ entrance test. I have a lot of experience in this area and always work on a one to one basis with all my pupils, tailoring my lessons to their specific needs.

I pride myself on working very hard for all the children I teach. I always assess new pupils to identify where they need help most and tailor my lessons accordingly. Students are always offered time to offer feedback and discuss next steps.
