Personal Descri ption:
I am a teacher with 18 years’ experience teaching all 3 sciences from KS3 to KS4 and Chemistry to A level therefore I have a vast scientific knowledge to pass on to my learners.

I have worked in a variety of schools and have delivered excellent results in all of them, this proves that I can teach and achieve positive outcomes for a variety of learners. Being a successful Head of Science who’s departments results are amongst the best in the country also demonstrates this. This makes me the perfect choice to help improve your child`s progress in Chemistry so that they reach their full potential.


Tutoring Approach:
I discuss a topic with the student to assess their understanding, and to find which areas need clarification or explanation. I aim for a secure understanding rather than rote learning. I believe it is important for students to be familiar with the approach used by the exam board that they are working for, so I ensure that have plenty of practice with past exam questions.  In addition to improving students academically, I am also able to improve them pastorally through growth mindset and motivational strategies.

Experience: Teaching Experience:
I achieved my PGCE in secondary science from UWIC. My first teaching job was at a Blaengwawr comprehensive school in Aberdare, I then taught Science and Chemistry to all abilities and key stages at Radyr Comprehensive School for 7 years before becoming head of Chemistry at St Julian`s High School, Which was described by Estyn 2010 inspection as outstanding. I then became a Head of faculty for Science and technology and a member of the school leadership team.
