My students have always described me as patient, calm, friendly and approachable. I like to bring the subject to life and make it interesting to learn by getting the student to think about what they are doing rather than just memorizing formulae or repeating steps that they do not fully understand. Maths can be a truly fascinating subject if it is taught well.

Outside work I play the Piano. I love improvisation and turning a simple melody into something unique, adding my own style.

Experience: After graduating I entered a training programme based at two local 16-19 colleges to gain some initial teaching experience.
In 2006 I started working with private tutoring agencies who were sending me out to prep students for their upcoming GCSE, A-level and CEs.
By 2015 I was teaching online and taking on students internationally, which was essential during the pandemic.
In 2023-2024 I was tutoring at Launceston College, taking on my own classes of small groups of students who need that extra support in securing a grade 4 or 5 on Foundation.

Most of my students are year 9-13 and have come from a mix of State, Private and Grammar schools. But occasionally I have taught trainee teachers, doctors, pilots, university students and engineers. All have had different learning styles and requirements. I have tutored in line with all the main exam boards AQA, Edexcel IGCSE/GCSE, OCR, Cambridge IGCSE and have taught both Modular and Linear courses.

I have also taught students with Autism as well as other conditions such as ME, ADHD and Dyslexia.
