I have been a teacher of English, Drama and Media for nearly 30 years; my posts include being Head of Department in English and Drama for 15 years.I have many years of experience of teaching KS3, GCSE and some A level experience and have been responsible for the English exam results in my past 3 posts.

I have directed many productions and taken OU courses in creative writing.I enjoy inspiring, but also showing young people what they can achieve with self confidence, commitment and application. I enjoy writing and participating in Drama to maintain an up to date approach.

I have been an examiner for several exam boards in the past and am currently an examiner for the AQA English Literature GCSE exam.

As an experienced secondary school teacher I am empathetic towards those who may have specific literacy challenges and believe that structured, positive and encouraging lessons are the best way to improve and motivate students, especially those who struggle with some aspects of English. My students make real progress and enjoy the feeling of achievement. (See reviews).

Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school hours.
If you have a friend or sibling who also needs help I can tutor up to 3 students in one session.
