I`m a well-qualified teacher and lecturer with a quarter of a century of experience. I`m currently taking a break from the classroom and my job as a head of department in order to study for a PhD at Warwick Medical School. I`ve successfully tutored many students over the years. Some have come seeking high grades to get into medicine, for example, and I`ve been able to give them the extension work required. Others have wanted a bit more help with the basics. I try to help my students understand the principle ideas and make the connections. Helping all students to achieve their goals is very rewarding. I teach all of the Biology A level, and all boards, but I specialise in Data handling, Practicals and second year holistic topics such as Homeostasis and Ecology. Exams these days are more about application than about knowledge. I use my experience as an examiner to help students to understand what is required of them.

Availability: I am available 7am to 9pm everyday by prior arrangement.

Experience: I`ve been teaching for 25 years, mostly A level Biology in FE colleges and Sixth Forms, but also BTEC Applied Science. I have a PGCE with QTS. I have been a Programme Manager/Head of Department, and I have worked for the exam board AQA. I have tutored many students over the years, with great results, and in particular, several candidates for Medical School. I`ve also been a co-tutor for Initial Teacher Training and Newly Qualified Teachers.
