A friendly and knowledgeable tutor of English Literature, English Language from KS2-Postgraduate and Theory of Knowledge (IB Diploma). I use my expertise as an A Level Examiner with Pearson/Edexcel to help my students achieve their goals.

My passion for English carried me through an undergraduate degree at Wadham College, Oxford University, a Masters in Modern Literatures at Birkbeck in London, and a PhD at the Institute of English Studies, School of Advanced Study in London. I bring this huge wealth of knowledge to my students, making the complex approachable and context effortless.

In 2013, I was made a Postdoctoral Fellow of the British Academy to complete research in poetic rhythm and form at King’s College London. At KCL, I greatly enjoyed teaching undergraduates, and I left a promising career in research to pursue my love of teaching. I became a qualified teacher (achieving a Postgraduate Diploma in Education), and have since taught A-Level, IB Diploma, GCSE, IB MYP and IGCSE at prestigious schools in the maintained and independent sector, including Oakham School and Stamford High School, for 6 years.
My students always perform well. Nearly a third of my A Level cohort scored A* in Summer 2022.

I have served for years as an Oxbridge mentor, with an excellent track record of students passing the English Literature Admissions Test (ELAT).
