Information about Ben
I am a fun and enthusiastic teacher who looks to put the needs of the student at the forefront of lessons. I believe that education should be an enjoyable experience and I do my best to make my students want to learn more.
Availability: I am free from 5pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and Friday. I am available at any time on the weekend, except Sunday Mornings.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I am a secondary Maths teacher with 6 years experience. I teach Years 7-11, and 11-plus. I have experience working at a specialist school for students with ASD so I am proficient at helping those with SENDs.
I began my journey teaching in South Korea doing TESOL. I learned so much about teaching and the requirements and responsibilities it places on the teachers. It was also an experience of self-discovery as I moved to a completely different culture, far removed from my friends and family, and had to adapt, and assimilate into my new home. In TESOL communication is essential, and through my time in South Korea, I become a skilled communicator of ideas and concepts. I believe that communication is one of my strongest attributes and believe it is central to being a great teacher. I enjoyed the experience so much I resigned with my school for another few months to end the academic year with my then classes, so I could put a fitting end of my time there.
Upon returning to the UK, I initially started teaching as a supply teacher before being offered a permanent job as a Maths teacher. I have since worked for a number of different schools in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire while I developed as a teacher and completed my QTS this year. I have now moved to Brighton where I am working as a specialist school for students with ASD. I am hoping to develop my teaching practice further and become an excellent teacher for all types of learnings and those with SEN.

Ben has seamlessly fit into our daughters education and quickly established the standard she is currently at and is now working with her well to improve. He has been great at forming a bond and making the lessons fun, whilst at the same time, getting the most out of our session. Ben is also really great at communicating with us and so we`re all happy!
