Information about Robert
I`m Rob born 1958, married with 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Have taught Maths since 1980 - mainly in F.E. / Sixth Form Colleges but also some schools . I was Head of Maths in a large FE college for 9 years and have also had various posts of responsibility over the years - e.g. course manager, exams
coordinator but have always preferred the actual teaching to the management side of the job
I have worked part time since 2018 and over the last 3 years I have become increasingly involved in private tuition - mainly on line but also some face to face work, In addition I have been very active in supporting schools through the National Tutoring Programme - working with students either on a one to one basis or in small groups.
I did my first on line lesson with Tutor Hunt in 2020 and since then have done something like 600 lessons for on line lessons - covering many different areas in the UK and even overseas
Other interests include music, travel, photography, drama, writing and watching football.
I live in Runcorn, Cheshire. I don`t drive but am willing to travel as long as a student is fairly easily accessible by public transport. I am happy to work on line through apps like `zoom`, `skype`, `google meet` etc
Availability: Over the summer I am particularly happy to start taking on current year 10 and 12 students with a view to continuing with these over the next academic year for the upcoming GCSE or A level exams but happy to take on any age / ability
Once the new academic year starts in September my availability will be dependent on any school work that I may be involved in - but I am generally available most weekday afternoons / early evenings plus some mornings
I don`t generally do many weekend slots due to family commitments but can do an occasional Saturday morning if needed
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I started teaching in 1980. I have taught Maths at many different levels from basic arithmetic / numeracy through to KS3, GCSE and A-level including Further Maths. Most of my teaching experience has been in the 16-19 sector although I have also taught in the 11-18 range, as well as adult education especially Access to Higher Education courses. During the last 2 academic years I have tutored on line at many different levels including KS3, GCSE, Level 2 Further Maths, Maths for Electrical Engineering (BTec), A Level Maths (Pure, Mechanics and Statistics) plus A Level Further Maths
DBS Check: Yes

Robert is an amazing teacher. He is flexible and caters the lessons to both my childrens needs- one completing their gcse and the other A levels. He responds to texts and is always helpful! He lets me know how they are both doing without any prompting from myself and I can already see the improvements in both my children.
