¡Hola! My name is Esmeralda, and I have been teaching Spanish for over 20 years, with great success.

I am currently in charge of the Spanish programme in one of the largest Sixth Form Colleges in London and I also love giving private lessons at home, where I can see the benefits of one to one support and the amazing progress that my students are able to make.
I have also been marking A Level Spanish exams for 7 years now. My job as a senior A level examiner and Team leader has provided me with a great insight into what is needed to achieved the highest grades.

I achieved my Higher Degree in Hispanic Studies at Universidad de Oviedo, Spain, where I also completed my PGCE. Once in London, I undertook a PGCE (FE) at Greenwich University. Since then, I have been lucky enough to have been teaching Spanish in various institutions, including [contact detail removed].

I am currently in charge of the Spanish curriculum in a Sixth Form College, where A Level Spanish has become the subject with the highest Value Added (which measures students` progress) in the whole college. That means that my students are consistently achieving well beyond their predicted grades.

I am also a Senior A Level examiner with one of the main Examination Boards, and in the last two years I have been Team Leader in charge of the marking of one of the A Level Spanish exam papers.
My experience as an A Level Examiner is an invaluable tool when it comes to learning from the intricacies of the A Level specification, while developing the exam skills needed to achieve success.
