Information about Josephine
I am a specialist Secondary School Tutor of English up to A Level standard, with an excellent track record of helping pupils achieve beyond their expected potential at GCSE. Exam Boards I have prepared students for include AQA (with whom I will be an examiner for the coming year) Edexcel and Cambridge Board.
With several years experience, both in schools and in private settings, I combine all the professionalism of a fully qualified Secondary School English Teacher, with the skill of a highly experienced Personal Tutor. As someone with many years Secondary School teaching experience, I know how to complement the teaching that is already taking place rather than overlap or conflict with it.
Good at spotting potential, I am skilled at helping pupils tap into their particular strengths and build on them, in order to maximise achievement. Our sessions will be tailored to meet the individual needs of the student.
I also have experience of supporting pupils with medical conditions and emotional problems as well as pupils with conditions such as Dyslexia and Asperger`s Syndrome and have undergone specialist training for both Dyslexia and Asperger`s.
In addition to teaching, I am also a practising Counsellor, trained to work therapeutically in Education settings with young people who have emotional difficulties.
Availability: Weekdays and evenings during term-time and depending on my availability, occasional Saturdays plus, some tuition during holiday periods also.
Based in Romford, Essex, I am happy to teach pupils at my home or to teach in their own homes, but may charge extra to cover the cost of travelling time and expenses.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: Changes to the exam system, with its new insistence on good standards of literacy in all subjects, has made it harder than ever to achieve the necessary pass grades at GCSE. It is therefore essential, to seek extra support to ensure that your son or daughter`s final grades, accurately reflect their true ability.
For this you need a fully qualified Secondary School Teacher of English, because only someone who knows how the curriculum is taught in schools, will truly understand how best to support pupil attainment.

She is teaching my 11 year old son. She is very professional, flexible, punctual and helpful. She has identified his strength and weaknesses and now working on to improve the weak areas. My son is enjoying the lessons.
