Information about Rob

Rob has played alongside many of the UK’s best jazz musicians (within the Pendulum Jazz Orchestra), such as Steve Waterman, Tina May, Mark Lockheart and Guy Barker. More recently, Rob can be seen playing for Nick Heyward, the 80s pop icon of Haircut 100, performing at 5 festivals during the Summer of 2014, one of which was televised on Sky Arts.

Rob has wealth of experience playing a range of styles and ensembles in venues across Europe, including Orchestras, Big Bands, Brass Bands, small jazz groups, function bands, pit bands and studio work, playing in venues ranging from local bars to country manors. As well as writing and gigging with his own jazz group, The Robert [contact detail removed] Quartet, he plays with several function bands.

Whilst Rob initially began playing the Clarinet, he soon found his passion for the saxophone during his teens. He is constantly tinkering around with other instruments, yet his specialism remains with woodwind. When Rob isn`t doing musical related activities, his creativity continues to his passion for graphic design and illustration. He also likes cats, cooking, watching movies and exploring the outdoors.

I teach students through to advanced levels but I am in my true element teaching beginners - whether you are a youngster seeking an extra-curricular activity or an adult pursuing a new hobby.
