Hi, my name is Nadine
I have been signing for over 20 years and have worked in the deaf community for 19 years. My work experience includes working in schools, colleges and with deaf adults in their work place. I have a NVQ level 3 in BSL. So if you just want to learn the basics or need to polish up for your exams or maybe your a hearing parent with a deaf child that wants to learn sign language, I`d be happy to help.
Availability: Not taking on any new students at the moment.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have worked in the deaf community for 19 years. I have provided 1:1 lessons for adults wanting to improve their signing skills. I have also taught a signing class at a primary school and supported a sign language course for adults.

Nadine has been amazing. She is a patient and attentive teacher, who is flexible and adaptive to learners needs. She creates a safe and fun environment to practice in, even for beginners like me. I’ve particularly enjoyed being able to explore deaf awareness and culture in our sessions, which has provided great context for the signs I’m learning. I’ve loved our lessons and would definitely recommend Nadine to anyone’s who’s feeling a bit intimidated by starting sign.

I have been having regular British Sign Language lessons with Nadine for the last month. She has been so lovely throughout the entire process and has tailored lessons to my level. I have learnt so much from Nadine, being able to practice BSL and receive personalised feedback and tips has been invaluable, and so much more beneficial than the online courses and videos. In addition, Nadine has shared her insight into the Deaf community and has taught me nuances of the language that you would not be able to learn online. I have been able to suggest topics that I`d like to learn and Nadine has always been excellent at implementing my ideas at an appropriate level and incorporating it into the rest of the lesson, all of which are planned in advance with additional resources. I look forward to every lesson and come away feeling very accomplished as we manage to cover a wide variety of topics and vocab without it feeling too overwhelming. I would recommend Nadine to anyone looking to learn BSL, regardless of age or experience.
