I have taught modern history and politics at Manchester University for about seven years. My seminars have covered subjects from modern British history to modern Chinese history (see list below). I`ve also done a lot of one-to-one teaching as an academic adviser and dissertation tutor and would therefore be happy to teach study and writing skills for exams and coursework.

My students have come from a variety of backgrounds and I believe in tailoring lessons to each student`s needs. Students say I am friendly, approachable, patient and easy to get on with.

I have a PhD in history focused on the history of humanitarian aid and have published several academic articles.

I`d also be happy to teach school-level English literature and geography, both of which I studied at A-level.

Availability: Weekends and most evenings.

Experience: I have taught history to undergraduates at Manchester and Salford Universities since 2011. This comprised teaching small groups of students, providing one-on-one feedback and advice, and marking essays and exams.
