Information about Neelam
I am a hardworking, committed and reliable tutor who would like to offer my 10 years of experience in teaching and learning to support students to achieve their full potential.
I would like to help students achieve a top grade by instilling an awareness of the specific skills that students need to exhibit in exams such as; knowledge, application, analysis and evaluation. I would also like to increase their performance in answering exam questions through practicing, marking and providing specific feedback as this will boost their grade as well as their confidence.
I also aim for students to share my passion for Economics and the desire to learn more by linking economic theory to real life events and offering distinct perspectives on economic theories and models. This will enable them to develop robust forms of application and evaluation which are crucial to achieving a high grade.

Experience: I successfully completed a Post Compulsory PGCE at the Institute of Education (IOE) in 2010 where I learnt about teaching pedagogy and had an opportunity to experiment with different models of teaching, learning and assessment at my placement in Richmond upon Thames College (RUTC). Since then I have rapidly established myself as an outstanding teacher achieving a grade 1 in a series internal and external observations and focus groups. For example, in an OFSTED inspection I was singled out for using a good range of well-planned activities that ensure learners are interested, participate well and make good progress`. The report also stated that I `provide timely and helpful feedback that supports learners to improve` and that I `monitor learners progress in making these improvements carefully` I have since created successful Economics departments at FE colleges across London improving all indicators of student performance such as high-grade achievement, attendance and punctuality and retention and have achieved this by placing the needs of a student at the heart of everything I do and forming positive, supportive relationships with them. I am now looking to use my vast experience to work with a handful of students and share my tips and support on how they can achieve a top grade.

Neelam has tutored my son for A Level Economic, during a short period of time, my son’s has grown in confidence with regard to unit content, analysis and evaluative skills needed to attain an A*- A grade. Lessons were well planned, organised and set at a level that stretched and challenged my son to achieve a high grade. Neelam effectively used her experience as an examiner and highlighted some key issues that my son needed to focus on. This was a highly effective strategy as lessons was personalised to cover areas my son was struggling with. Effective assessment strategies were used to ensure that my son was consistently making significant progress and I was kept updated with his development. I highly recommend Neelam as she is a very experienced teacher, examiner and very supportive and approachable.
