Note Sept 2020 - I have a full timetable of students and can`t take any more at present. Sorry!
I am a specialist tutor for Computer Science and Maths. I take pride in working with unusual cases and getting good results - including the US SATS for entrance to college in the States, and international students doing the iGCSE. I have helped students with anxiety/depression, as well as some struggling with fundamentals improve by 2 grades so they could progress to A Levels.
I always like to show how topics can be applied, as it makes the subjects much more accessible and easy to understand. I think it`s important to build a good connection, and make sessions enjoyable as this makes learning easier.
I do not take many students at once, as I work as an independent mobile game developer for the rest of the week. I believe that being a practicing developer makes my teaching better, and tutoring has made me a better programmer!
Availability: Typically work Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: Masters degree in Computer Science, and several years of professional experience.

Despite her enjoying computer science at GCSE and getting a decent grade, A level has proved a great deal more challenging for our daughter. This was only exacerbated by being in lockdown with zero CS tuition from March - August and now remote learning at her new college. Thomas has been the lifeline she needed. He has begun to help her get back up to speed, especially with the programming which she has particularly found hard. Having 1-2-1 lessons is great as he can tailor the speed and content to her needs, and with no other students present she has been more able to put her hand up when she doesn`t understand. Something she`s struggled with in actual class. He`s been very cooperative, working with us and utilising the college syllabus to tailor the lessons accordingly. Tracking those subjects she`s currently studying or perhaps recapping over those that she`s struggled to grasp in college lessons. He is patient and quite obviously knows his stuff. We would have no hesitation in recommending him. Thank you Thomas!
