Information about Elliot
Elliot is an experienced, versatile and dedicated tutor of Violin and Viola with a BMus(Hons) degree in Viola from the Royal College of Music. He has a number of full-time pupils in the West, South West and Central London areas, and has worked in five schools to date (many simultaneously) with four years of school teaching experience. He has been teaching privately since 2013, and has a 100% instrumental ABRSM exam pass rate for private students.
His students and their parents describe him as charismatic, knowledgeable and technical in his approach to working with budding musicians of all ages. Elliot also teaches adult learners, and has worked with people of ages, from 4-75.
"I teach in a relaxed, supportive and adaptive manner, taking the needs of the student into account. I am a great believer that encouragement inspires confidence, and work hard to build genuine rapport with my pupils. If a student needs the time, I will always endeavour to go above and beyond what is required of me to give them the support they need especially in terms of low-income students, where I am happy to negotiate affordable and constructive lesson plans. A student`s enjoyment of music is of the utmost importance to me, and I seek to make lessons inspiring, fun and different."
"I have a technical approach to working out issues with playing and am keen to work on aspects of a student`s technique alongside their musical development. I work with students on all ABRSM exams from Grades I-VIII and am always seeking to encourage students to reach the limits of their potential."

Experience: I teach a healthy roster of 20 private students each week, and thoroughly enjoy working with every single one! All of my private students have, to date, had a 100% ABRSM instrumental pass rate. In the daytime I work as an associate strings teacher with the Richmond Music Trust, tutoring 55 students Violin and Viola in four schools weekly. Previously I spent two years working as the Strings Teacher at Westminster City School.
I have taught for five years privately and four years in schools with consistently excellent feedback during my work with both full-time and more casual pupils, and am always looking to expand my teaching in the London Area. References can be made available from current pupils on request.
During my studies at the Royal College of Music I ran the `RCM Underground` Performance Platform and peer learning program and acted as a class co-ordinator, meaning that I worked alongside many Conservatoire level students in a pastoral, instructive role. I have taught on a number of Instrumental Teaching Courses in the south of England too. I am a Member of the European String Teacher`s Association, Musician`s un ion and have a current Enhanced DBS check.
Feedback For Elliot (2)
Elliot is super friendly and supportive, the lessons are genuinely good fun and I am loving learning a new instrument
Elliot is great teacher. After many years away from viola, I decided to learn violin. I started taking lessons with Elliot as a beginner adult student. His dedication to teaching is superb as shown through his seriousness about sharing his passion for music. If I was afraid to get back to music he gave me the confidence I needed. I`m making a ton of really good progression. Merci!!
