I am currently studying with Melissa Phelps at the Royal College of Music as an ABRSM Scholar.

I have been a prize winner in several national and international competitions, most significantly I was awarded 1st prize in 2014 in the Karl Davidov International Cello Competition in Kuldiga. In 2016 I won 1st prize in the competition for young performers organised by the Inese Galante Foundation and in 2018 won 1st prize at the RCM String Quartet Competition. In the same year I was also awarded a scholarship by Raphael Sommer Trust.
 
I have participated in masterclasses with Frans Helmerson, Torleif Thedeen, Zuill Bailey, Marko Ylonen, Sennu Laine, Denis Severin, Ramon Jaffe, Janis Laurs, Henrik Brendstrup, Ole Eirik Ree and Nicholas Jones.
 
As well as my love for solo performing, I have a passion for chamber and orchestral music. I have played with various artists including Nabuko Imai, Marta Gulyas, Hansjorg Schellenberger, Cecilia Zilliacus, Avri Levitan and I was a member of the prize winning Artha String Quartet.

I have performed at venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall and Clarence House for HRH Prince of Wales, as well as Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Berlin Konzerthaus, and Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. I have been invited to perform in the Chipping Campden Festival, Musethica Chamber Music Festival, Maiastra Chamber Music Festival and “Encuentro de Santander” Music Academy in Spain. Since 2018, I have been a member of the European un ion Youth Orchestra.

Experience: I have been teaching cello for 5 years and I am happy to work with cellists of all ages. I was a teaching assistant in my previous music school in Latvia before I began studying at the Royal College of Music.
I am also one of the cello teachers at the All Things Cello Summer Course.
I enjoy teaching not only because my students learn something new but I also often learn something too. Each lesson is an exchange of ideas and experiences.
