A highly experienced teacher and former Head of Mathematics at a very successful school. I am a passionate educator and my greatest enjoyment is putting the ‘wow’ back into pupils’ learning. Keen to develop students’ conceptual understanding, I am a practical mathematician and physicist, using resources to enhance explanations and focusing on investigative, open ended techniques, where applicable. I am experienced in teaching students from Year 6 all the way to Year 13, including supporting Oxbridge candidates to prepare STEP, MAT, PAT and Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA).

Having graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge with a Masters in Engineering, I have worked for both both Ford Motor Company and Mars Confectionery, in senior engineering roles. During this time, I became increasingly involved with teaching young people and developing their skills in judo, supporting players to become national medalists and GB squad members. The immense satisfaction that I achieved from supporting young people in sport developed my interest in education and motivated me to retrain as a teacher.

Experience: I completed my professional teaching qualifications and started my teaching career at St Alban’s High School for Girls before moving to Immanuel College, Bushey, as Second in the Mathematics Department. A proven track record in the classroom and strong leadership skills led me to take up the role as Head of Mathematics at St Margaret’s School in Bushey. In little over a year of joining St Margaret`s I was promoted further to the senior management team, as Director of Studies (Assitant Head). I have overseen the introduction of the reformed GCSE and A Level curriculums, ensuring that I am up to date in current thinking of not only Mathematics, but also Physics. Further, I have successfully tutored pupils in Oxbridge entrance examinations in both subjects.
