Are you a year 10/11 student struggling to understand the AQA English Language GCSE exam? Are you a parent concerned about your son or daughter`s current working at grade in English? Or are you an A Level literature student looking to effectively bridge the gap between GCSE and the demands of further education?

My name is Owain and I have been a secondary English teacher for the last 7 years and have worked in education for 9 years in all. My knowledge of and experience teaching the AQA English Language and Literature GCSE will help students achieve their target grade. As your tutor, I will be able to help you make the progress you know you can whilst helping you enjoy your education through engaging, fun and interesting sessions. I hope to be able to share my passion and knowledge with you soon.

Availability: I am available to tutor students both during and after school hours on different days.

If you are home-schooled or temporarily out of the mainstream education setting, I can provide important English tuition during the hours of 1pm and 3pm on certain days.

I am also available to tutor students after school, whether immediately after the school day has finished between 3pm and 6pm, or even later in the evening between 7pm and 9pm.

Experience: As an experienced English teacher, I have spent the last ten years supporting students as a classroom teacher in one of the most successful English departments at national level and as an English tutor working one-to-one with students struggling to break down barriers in their learning on their own. I can help students make the progress they want to make with their English Language GCSE, English Literature GCSE and English Literature A Level (all AQA examination board).

I am also currently an examiner for the AQA examination board. Marking hundreds of papers in the English Language GCSE has provided me with the knowledge, skills and experience required to understand the nuances and requirements for these key examinations; it is this knowledge that I can pass onto you or your child with the clarity and specificity they require to succeed at secondary school.
