Information about Hashmi
I believe that the best teachers do not teach from books but from the heart and thus I am a very passionate and enthusiastic tutor. As a teacher, I like to share my ways of critical thinking to my students so that they can view complex problems in a much more simple manner.
Aside from showing my students how to solve typical questions efficiently, I train them to become investigative, communicative and self-sufficient which will assist in their career development later on. I prepare customised lessons for each of my students depending on their level and progress. I also explain to my students the practical side of applied Maths so that they can appreciate what they are learning and its relevance in the everyday world. My students in the past have achieved excellent A,A*,A** grades in their GCSE or A level examinations.
Availability: I am usually available in the afternoon and evening during weekdays and on Sunday afternoons. Do not hesitate to contact me for further details and I will try my best to organise the lessons at a convenient time for the student.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have more than 7 years of experience as a part time Maths teacher in a private school and as a private Maths tutor at students` homes. Most of my lessons are on a one to one basis which allows me to adjust the teaching pace for each student depending on their progress.
I teach all student levels from Year 7 to Year 13. However in the past, most of my students have been GCSE (Y10/Y11) Maths and A Level (Y12/Y13) Maths and Further Maths students who followed the AQA, BTEC, OCR, CIE, EDEXEL or IGCSE curriculums. I am also an Associate Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA).
Moreover, I spent 2 years as a graduate teaching assistant at University College London (UCL) and 5 years at City, University of London, where I have taught and mentored undergraduate students on relevant engineering modules and laboratories as well as marking of courseworks. Finally, I have engaged in volunteering activities several times for many educational organisations and charities.
