Chi was a wonderful teacher in Vietnamese. I am so regret that I was unable to continue my learning with Chi due to my busy schedule.

Chi offers flexibility both in terms of days/hours (which is crucial to me as I don`t have a fixed schedule) and in terms of learning programme. For example, she asked me about my interests and the situations in which I would need to speak, and then she created sample conversations accordingly.

We normally meet on midweek late morning at a coffee shop in the centre, where it`s quite easy to find seats and reasonably quiet at those times.

I’ve been studying Vietnamese with Chi for around 3 months and I can honestly say that she is a great tutor, and the lessons are a lot of fun!

Chi structures the lessons around different topics and supplements each lesson with rules on grammar. This has helped me build up my vocab, whilst also giving me the tools to create my own sentences. In each lesson we also focus on making sure I remember what I was taught previously, both in terms of vocab and grammar rules, and integrating this as much as possible into our conversations.

Chi encourages you to speak as much Vietnamese in the lesson as possible, which undoubtedly has made me feel more comfortable with the language and allows me to improvise more during our conversations. Chi is also very patient, taking the time to explain any difficult sentence/grammar structures and making sure that they are fully understood before moving on, which again helps a lot when trying to create your own sentences.

Overall, I’ve really enjoyed studying with Chi and would strongly recommend her as a tutor for anyone thinking of studying Vietnamese.
