Information about Deborah
I am currently a Mathematics and Learning Strategies Teacher at an independent school. I have taught Maths to GCSE for the past 10 years. I have also given private tuition to students from the ages of 7 to adult for many years. All my students have gained confidence and an enjoyment of mathematics. They have achieved results of up to two grades higher than those they have been predicted to attain. I am friendly and supportive, and form good relationships with students and adults alike. I have a great deal of experience to offer, both to the most able students, and those with special education needs. Before my current post, i was Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) at a large secondary school, hence am accustomed to supporting students with difficulties. I understand that many people have fears and worries around mathematics, and know that I can help them to overcome these. I can provide excellent references from students in my current school, or from students and / or parents that I work with outside school. I always design individual learning programs which are created to overcome any difficulties, and enable a student to achieve their true potential. I know that my subject knowledge and extensive teaching experience mean that I am an extremely effective tutor.

Deborah identified key areas that our son needed to work on and practised these with him, instilling confidence in his own ability to achieve his desired grade in GCSE Maths which he did.

I highly recommend Deborah. She has been amazing for my daughter. My daughter has gone hating and thinking she was rubbish at maths to confidentially walking into gcse exam and liking maths. She is even thinking about it as an A level option which would have been unheard of before she had tuition with Deborah. My daughter found Deborah easy going and approachable.

Deborah has built a quick rapport with my son making him feel comfortable to say what he doesnt understand and where he may be struggling. Deborah is patient and keeps my son engaged with learning which isnt always an easy task. Our main aim was for Deborah into improve my sons confidence which she has done in such a short space of time with her approachable and friendly manner. Highly recommended.

Debrorah has been great for my 16 year old daughter. She missed a big chunk of year 10 and completely lost her confidence in maths. Debrorah has helped restore that, she`s been kind, patient and gone at my daughter`s pace. My daughter has autism and doesn`t take to people easily, but this wasn`t a problem with Debrorah 😁;

Deborah is a very supportive and capable tutor. She has excellent GCSE Maths subject teaching skills and a deep understanding of the challenges of SEN students. Her calm, flexible style has enabled our child to access education while unable to attend school and has improved not only her subject knowledge but her self esteem and confidence. Deborah is a wonderful teacher who is making a very real difference to our child`s education.
