Information about Deborah
I am currently a Mathematics and Learning Strategies Teacher at an independent school. I have taught Maths to GCSE for the past 10 years. I have also given private tuition to students from the ages of 7 to adult for many years. All my students have gained confidence and an enjoyment of mathematics. They have achieved results of up to two grades higher than those they have been predicted to attain. I am friendly and supportive, and form good relationships with students and adults alike. I have a great deal of experience to offer, both to the most able students, and those with special education needs. Before my current post, i was Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) at a large secondary school, hence am accustomed to supporting students with difficulties. I understand that many people have fears and worries around mathematics, and know that I can help them to overcome these. I can provide excellent references from students in my current school, or from students and / or parents that I work with outside school. I always design individual learning programs which are created to overcome any difficulties, and enable a student to achieve their true potential. I know that my subject knowledge and extensive teaching experience mean that I am an extremely effective tutor.
