Information about Lisa
Teacher Trainer, Teacher Coach, English Examiner and professional, qualified English Lecturer with 15 years experience. I have a reputation for gaining fast, high pass rates. Learners enjoy preparing for exams and gaining confidence. Outstanding Ofsted observations at London South East Colleges.
I have taught and trained in the private & public sector. I teach to your gaps and plan lessons based on your own assessments.
With a proven track record of coaching teacher development and teacher training, learners achieve success in English, Maths & ICT lecturing, remote and on campus. I provide the best teaching, as evidenced in Ofsted observations where I was specifically highlighted as strong - good with outstanding. This was not just in my subject specialism of English, but also for an Ofsted Maths observation.
Availability: Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday, to fit your schedule. One off flexibility it some other times during school holidays.
I contextualise teaching to your own vocation and interests and music which transfers to written text.
Willing to travel: 50 miles
Experience: As a qualified, professional practitioner, I have successfully coached teachers, managed training provision, approved external examiner for English and lectured English GCSE for ten years, with positive student feedback, as well as experience teaching A Level. With 10 years previous training experience across all ages, I hold 9 GCSEs including Math, English & Science and BA (Hons) English Language/Literature. I have a PGCE and also hold SEND teaching qualifications and a diploma in teaching from 1991. I constantly update my practice. I also touch type with speeds of 60 wpm and currently mark English GCSE`s with external exam boards.
Contributing to the wider E&M team, I mentor lecturers to achieve their QTLS, having qualified with QTLS myself in 2020. In addition to my English specialism, I deliver Math & ICT to support and cover other teachers in my team, adapting and changing to the needs of students with SEND, emotional and ex trauma, as well as main stream. During leave, I have worked with other teachers to share resources and we have plans to create and update standard, updated teaching resources for next term. This fits well with the digital offering, linked to consistent resources on campus. I work closely with ALS, requesting assessments, agreeing student strategies and ensuring concessions are available during student exams.
The vast experience having taught across all campuses, from E3 to L2 English - from Traineeships to L5 Adult apprentices, FS as well as GCSE (which I am enjoying the most recently, since it makes full use of my English degree) meets both the Digital Coach and English Lecturer responsibilities.
Acting as a digital champion, I have been a member of the digital support community since early 2020. I have also supported other Lecturers with Team/Century functionality when requested. I ensured EVERY learner had the opportunity to borrow a laptop during lockdown three which I hope will lead to more pass results next week for those L2 Adult learners who sat exams this Wednesday 9th June.
I also plan and deliver revision workshops for learners pre exams for increased student success. I have carried out CPD for other staff wellbeing, hold a full, clean driving license and have delivered holiday boot camps for the past four years.
I am First Aid Advanced qualified. Working flexibly and with integrity - I am energetic and resilient, as evidenced in the many endorsements and references in LinkedIn. I am passionate about learner progression, with regular contact outside of lessons by email, text, Team notifications and calls.
Being informed and up to date on educational government changes as well as AQA and Edexcel Exam board guidance communications and have recently been awarded an English exam marking post with Edexcel.
