I am a qualified Primary Teacher and have taught children in Reception to Year 6 (ages 5-11 years). I have experience teaching in a classroom setting as well as teaching in small groups and on a 1:1 basis both in person and online. I understand and use the National Curriculum to base my lessons on. I am able to tutor any Primary subjects, especially English and Maths. My lessons are child-centred and would focus on what you want me to teach your child/children. I use visual concepts and resources to help the learning process and to embed the knowledge that is taught. I make the lessons fun and engaging. Most of my experience of teaching has been in LKS2 (years 3 and 4). I have also worked as a supply teacher in reception to year 6.

Experience: My passion for teaching can be shown throughout the amount of effort I put into the teaching I plan, organise and deliver. My teaching approach isn`t just 1 way but I adopt different teaching styles to adapt to the child/children I teach. I have learnt new methods and I now know how to incorporate different styles of teaching to find what works for the children and me. I have high expectations of all the pupils in the classroom challenging them to expand their knowledge and personal development.

I have worked and volunteered with young people in both primary and secondary education. I have coached year 6 children in maths. I completed my PGCE with QTS in July 2020. My placements were in KS1 (year 2) and KS2 (year 4). I have also been a team leader on National Citizen Service (NCS) for the last six years working with and alongside people from all different backgrounds. Through NCS I tried to bring out the best in the young people by encouraging them out of their comfort zones and to overcome new challenges. I have been able to adapt my skills from NCS and Coachbright and transfer them to the classroom when teaching.

I am currently working as a Catch-Up Tutor delivering interventions in a school for the Y6 children to offer extra support and help to get them ready for their SATs.

I believe that all children and young people are capable of achieving great things with the right guidance and help. I am confident that my passion and expertise are qualities that will really help your child grow in confidence and achieve the successful outcome they deserve.
