Hi! My name is Maryam and I am entering my 4th year as a medical student at[contact detail removed], having recently been awarded a First Class Honours in my intercalated BSc of Medical Sciences. I am offering A Level Biology online lessons with the aim of boosting your confidence and grades.

I am an enthusiastic, patient and understanding teacher with a passion for helping students thrive at school and beyond. I create a non-judgmental and easy-going (yet focused and productive!) environment where you can ask me anything, especially questions that you may hesitate to ask in class/to your teacher. My passion for teaching has extended through to medical school, where I deliver tutorials/lectures to medical students as well as mentoring support.

I have achieved A* in both GCSE and A Level Biology and so can give first-hand tips and advice on revision and exam technique. I have built a sound, well-rounded and solid knowledge base in Biology through the last 3 years of my degree, but more importantly I am skilled at breaking down difficult concepts into digestible and easy to understand bitesize chunks.

I teach you how to take the subject knowledge and apply it to the exam questions - this is a winning formula that not many people are taught. Understanding the content is the first step, but the difference between the top grades are those who can apply their knowledge and tick every marking point on the mark scheme!

At the end of the day, I am here to help you achieve whatever you would like...Is there a certain topic at school that you learnt that day that didn`t make any sense? I will go through it again in detail and help you understand so by next lesson at school you are back on the same page. Are you struggling with exam and/or revision strategies? As someone who sat the paper relatively recently (and continues to sit exams) I can offer some gems on foolproof revision strategies, or how to approach intimidating graphs and calculations that you aren`t necessarily taught in the syllabus. Do you have an assessment coming up that has a certain topic in that you despise? I guarantee you will love it by the end of the lesson!

Availability: I am very flexible and lenient with timings. I usually like to tutor between 4pm and 9pm however if this doesn’t suit you I am open to negotiating a different schedule!

Experience: I have accumulated over 300 hour`s worth of tutoring lessons over the past 2 years. I have worked at various tutoring companies and have taught a range of students with different capabilities.

During my time as a tutor, I have seen the mistakes people will make and become more refined at targeting a student`s weakest links. I have had a lot of success in boosting student`s grades as well as having students move up multiple sets at school!
