Jorinde

Jorinde (1993) started playing the violin at the age of seven. After having private lessons with her teacher Evert Sillem, she got accepted in 2008 in The Young Talent Class from the Conservatory of Amsterdam where she studied with Reinette Thiadens. She did her Bachelor`s degree at The Conservatory of Utrecht with Elisabeth Perry, concertmaster of the Radio Philharmonic of The Netherlands. Then continued her studies at The Royal College of Music in London with Jan Repko, where she got her Master`s degree in Performance ";With Distinction";. She was awarded a 20.000 euro Scholarship from The Prince Bernhard Culture Foundation to support her studies in London.
she has won the 2011 SJMN (Young Talent of the Netherlands Foundation) 1st price for the best interpretation of a contemporary composer. As a Soloist, she has performed with the Amsterdam Conservatory Orchestra and three times with the Utrecht Conservatory Orchestra. She joined The Metropole Orchestra in several projects as a member of the Metropole Orchestra Academy. With her ensemble and as a soloist she performed in The Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht. She loves all kinds of music so you can find here playing with a DJ in the clubs in Amsterdam, with her Rockband in The Waterhole ( Amsterdam), or with The Metropole Orchestra at the 2019 Tomorrowland Festival. She also plays with the touring West End musicals with whom she has performed the Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. Recently she has joined the Vivico Quartet, which in words of Suzie Meszaros ( Leader of the Fitzwilliam quartet ";is a group of well-matched, intelligent musicians of high technical standards which as a whole has identity and character``. Her violin is made by the Dutch Luthier Daniel Roye, which she was able to buy with the help and support from The SEM Foundation.
