What I Can Offer You In Lessons

I feel it is very important that singing is kept enjoyable and you learn songs that you love! This is why you will have a great deal of input on what you want to learn during lessons. This will mean you will start to take creative decisions on how you want to sound and your individual voice. Lessons will be focused on developing your own sound and not trying to replicate somebody elses voice.

It is crucial when taking tuition in singing that we learn which muscles we are using when we use the voice. This is so that we are able to sing safely and get the most out of our vocal muscles! You will learn how to manipulate both your vocal and body muscles to enable you to sing with much more confidence in any style. During lessons I will help you connect to songs emotionally helping you to become a more engaging performer. This will also combat stage fright as you learn to become more involved with the story of the song.

You will also learn how to interpret songs by adding the finishing touches to a song or piece. This will enable you to enhance the interpretation of your song, giving it more emotional intensity and meaning. Using diction, dynamics, phrasing and different vocal colours and tones you can bring your song alive.

I have prepared many students for grades 1-8 with various examination boards. Also many of my students have gone on to audition for music colleges and schools.
