What is Turntablism...

Turntablism is an advanced form of Djing which involves using the turntable as a musical instrument by manipulating the record. Techniques such as scratching, beat juggling, turntable drumming and body tricks are some of the tricks used in turntablism.

There are a wide range of scratches that exist amongst the turntablist community, such as The Transformer, Crab Scratch, Flare and many more.

What is Beat Juggling...

Beat Juggling is when you take 2 copies of a record and change the original ingredients of the music by manipulating both records at the same time to make the track/song sound different.

What is Turntable Drumming...

Turntable Drumming is when you use a beat and a snare from a record and manipulate them to make your own drum patterns. Like what you would do on a set of drums, but with a turntable.

What are Body Tricks...

Body Tricks are used during beat juggling. Turntablist are known to but their hands around their backs and under their legs whilst manipulating a record. Some even use their feet and mouths.
