Discuss Various Components Of Sewage Pumping Station?

Components of Sewage pumping station are given as:

(i) Grit channel: Grit, gravel and other solids in suspension arriving at pumping station are removed in Grit channel.

(ii) Screens: After removing grit from Sewage in grit chamber, Screens are used to trap the floating matter.

iii) Sumps: Sump is used as a suction pit from which sewage is drawn.

iv) Dry well / pump room:- Provisions should be made to facilitate easy removal of pumps and motors for periodic repairs for by providing Pump room.

v) pumps - only centrifugal pumps including Submersible pumps and Pneumatic state ejectors. are used at Sewage pumping station.

(VI) Suction pipe: Suction pipes or pump Intakes used are made of cast iron, steel or asbestos Cement.

vii) Rising mains: pumped sewage is taken to high level gravity Sewer through rising mains.

VII) Exit recorder: Flow recorders are installed. In sewage pumping station to know the quantity of sewage pumped per unit time.
