So HOW do you develop the knowledge you need to BE confident?

Well, if you want to gain confidence gain knowledge. If you want to gain knowledge go to an expert.

Throughout my career there have been many times I have wanted to grow in confidence! Opening nights of a new production I m in, meeting new companies for the first day pf rehearsals, auditioning for my next bug job, sharing work I have written for the first time with others the list goes on! BUT one of the greatest lessons I have learned is that my confidence grows the more I experience and learn from others and best in one to one learning.

When I wanted to write a one woman show I had sessions with a writing coach in Las Vegas, via Skype, to coach me through the process. I wrote a first draft within 6 months! When I wanted better vocal management, whilst playing a demanding leading role on a UK tour, I found a private online vocal coach and I efficiently grew stronger. When I wanted to develop my business plans, I saw an online personal manager. You get the picture!

Performing is a very PERSONAL EXPERIENCE and I believe it requires personal attention. For example, many of us enjoy singing in a group or choir but if you want to MASTER your voice you go for on we to one singing lessons. It is EXACTLY THE SAME FOR ACTING.
