Find something you care about in that language. Being passionate is the key to fast learning.

If you`re a sports fan, look up the Spanish broadcasts, especially the ones by and for teams from Spanish speaking areas. Watch some Spanish tv shows(Breaking Bad, and From Dusk Till Dawn, are two ones with a decent amount of Spanish of dubious value), listen to Spanish music, etc.

Find something you are passionate about that is available in Spanish, and then immerse yourself.

Immerse yourself as much as possible. Tv, music, movies. Use subtitles, or don`t. It`s about hearing the flow and practicing auditory cues and understanding.

Read books in the language and try to read them out loud, even if you don`t understand. This helps with accent and speech flow. The auditory cues you`re learning will tie in. Learn the basics, like a child. Speak as well and often as you can. Try to think in the language.

If you have friends that speak the language natively, ask them for help and practice with them in your daily life. If not, try talking with native speaker coworkers or find a local social group to help you.

Remember that language is simply a set of sounds. If you can, assign these new sounds you learn to the thing they refer to, not to the sounds you`ve always used for those things. Then, learn how to make the sounds in order so you don`t sound like a baby.

In my life, I`ve found these methods to vastly improve internalization, comprehension, and fluency. Most importantly, never stop practicing and never give up. You can do it!
