Rightly or wrongly, the way that you speak is one of the first things that people notice about you. People will judge your background, education and social standing just by the way you speak. Even if you can already communicate in English if you don`t speak clearly, people won`t understand you and they won`t want to talk to you, because it`s just too tiring. Don`t confuse pronunciation with accent. It doesn`t mean that we all have to talk like the Queen of England. I aim to bring this subject alive from teaching basic annunciation and pronounciation to following a syllabus. If following a syllabus I will expect extra commitment from my pupils to ensure the best is brought out in them.

Elocution: I learnt elocution after returning from the Middle East where I had been in attendance at an American school. I was the only pupil that posessed an American accent. I attained Grade VII LAMDA with Distinction. I used my skills in achieving A-levels in English and Drama. In addition I joined debating societies and even competed in the Toastmaster`s competition with a 7 minute talk on the Origins of Knitting! I continue to use elocution on a daily basis. In my career I spent nearly 15years in the legal department in a large financial organisation.
