The Brazilian Culture is made a huge diversity of styles and rhythms. It`s a very rich tradition well known around the world. One of the most important styles is Bossa Nova, this gentle jazz style, that seduced the world since 1950. There are many other movements in the Brazilian culture that really deserve to be discovered.

Brazil was made of a great diversity of immigrants, mainly Africans, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, German, and more. This characteristic made Brazil a nation that mixed the best of all these musical traditions. Our music can show the sweetness of French music, passing through the passion of flamenco and the strong rhythmic approach of the tambours in the African culture.

Singing Brazilian music is a challenge for the natural voice. Not using techniques based on Bel Canto or Belting, the way Brazilian singers transmit their sophisticated melodies is a very special training, that shows no effort or special attributes. But there are! It`s a very specific and delicious training, for the interested of singers nowadays.

The arrangements for piano on Brazilian music are also very unique. Rhythmic patterns coming from the percussion can be shown in the piano, that becomes a tambor for the experienced pianist. Besides this, the jazzy harmonies and very special voicing are the main interest on studying Brazilian piano technique.
