Primary school is the time to kick off the educational experience with a bang! Some students need help untangling these new ways of learning, while other students need an outlet for deeper, more personalized enrichment. Our tutors are well-rounded mentors, trained to catalyse the learning experience of early age students. Students of this age are treated like adults by our tutors, encouraged to question what they are taught and are introduced to the idea of relativity and open-mindedness.

The secondary school years comprise a critical time during which a student cements lifelong organizational skills and study techniques. Our tutors are trained to provide a smooth transition between secondary school years and start teaching students how to study independently in secondary school, effectively “weaning off” their need for a tutor. The company recognizes the impact that an educator can have on a child, especially at such a formative age. Recognizing this fact, our tutors pride themselves in being accomplished people in their respective fields, having a wide array of life-experiences, being extremely adaptable and therefore understanding the importance of being comprehensively educated at this age.

It truly “gets real” during the sixth form years. Students have chosen subjects that they actually have an interest for, and are preparing themselves for university applications. With Ivy league and red brick university application deadlines early in the last year of school, students need to be on top of their own studies all the while preparing extensive application forms. This can be quite challenging depending on where students want to go for their further studies, and some of our tutors are specifically trained to tutor in interview preparation and interview technique to aid with this process.

It only takes that little bit of experience or training to be an effective tutor. But to be a tutor that will inspire your children to aim towards something higher is a different matter in itself. That`s where we come in with our "twist" on tutoring. Instead of getting a recent graduate to teach your son mathematics, how about a film producer? An actual lecturer from a top UK institution? Or maybe a lawyer? Instead of trying to find a trained English tutor, how about a writer that has already published a number of novels? Or better yet, a ground-breaking scientist who regularly writes and publishes scientific papers in high-impact journals? On top of being experts in their subject areas, our tutors are trained to recognize and tutor the different boards available to students in the UK (boards covered include Edexcel, AQA, OCR). Special emphasis is put on exam technique, and we work extensively with mark schemes. We teach our students that although you may give a good answer and explanation to a question from the point of view of an outsider, if the specific words taught in the module and/or unit are not used, marks cannot be awarded. All our tutors are trained to first and foremost establish a rapport between the student and themselves, after which barriers such as lack of confidence and motivation can be surmounted much more effectively. Having said that, we cannot physically make somebody want to succeed. But we damn well make sure to show our students what success in studies can lead to. Our tutors are a testimony to that.
