A graduate of Oxford Uni, I have recently moved to working online for Tutorhunt after nine years of working in-person and private online work. I teach English (Lit and Language) History and Drama at GCSE, A Level and some undergraduate work. I am based in Reading. I trained as an actor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and also obtained a History degree from Balliol College, Oxford. My MA was in English and Creative Fiction at Royal Holloway. I have also worked as an assessor for OCR and have experience marking papers and helping students with retakes. Please note that while Covid continues I will mainly be teaching online or at my own residence (when not in lockdown). I do travel to see students within Reading.

What separates me from many of the tutors on here is that I have worked as a private tutor for eleven years and have experience of all the exam boards and working with exam boards. I have also worked at some of the top schools in the UK. I am training as a psychotherapist which enables me to develop a good working relationship with students while being aware of their pastoral needs/anxiety and can provide a calm and positive attitude which will help students find a love of their subject.

I have worked with all kinds of students from 11-18 and many who need specific support for issues such as anxiety, OCD etc. I have taught Common Entrance, GCSE, IGCSE and A level in all exam boards in addition to having experience marking for OCR. I work hard to make the lessons varied and engaging and have helped students improve by three grades at GCSE and A level. In 2015 I had three students achieve an A* and A grade at A Level and one student who secured a place to study Classics and English and Oxford. I have worked at schools such as Westminster, Ampleforth, Worth and Shrewsbury leading workshops in drama, public speaking and gender. My students have gone on to Oxbridge and other leading universities.

I have also worked with students applying to drama school and have helped several students secure places. I run a special workshop class which focuses on developing audition technique. I teach on the Guildhall School summer programme.
