Now looking for tutors to help our son with AS Levels - Geography, Economics and Music and Music Tech BTec - but we are looking for tutors primarily for Geography and Economics.

Longer term he is thinking of a Geography degree (Human/socio-economics) or possibly combined Music and Economics or Geography.

His GCSEs were not the results hoped for (real extremes across papers within the same subject, resulting in overall mainly Bs when predicted 12 As, and some Cs in critical subjects that weren`t expected at all). We think poor exam and revision techniques may have been part of the problem - as results were a surprise all round.

Obviously we are keen for him to regain ground at AS level. We want to bolster his confidence (we can understand that it`s not easy for him either) but also make sure that he understands his part in the whole process - still not working enough. For this reason we would be particularly keen to hear from tutors with recent A-level teaching experience and/or exam/revision technique specialists. Exam boards are: Economics (OCR), Geography AQA, Music (Edexcel).

He started at a sixth form college in September, so new friends and distractions. We think he`s quite quick to understand and analyse information, but is still not knuckling down to learning independently and so needs tutors willing to regularly test and stretch.

Availability: For tutoring at our home (there will always be a parent there as we both work from home):
Weekdays - afternoons and evenings (tbc until school timetable confirmed) Weekends - teenage times!

Also willing to travel independently to tutors` homes (subject to initial meeting with parents) if that suits better.

Most weekday evenings and weekends for Skype tutoring (but prefer face-to-face initially).
