Simon

I have a life-long love of English in general and of Shakespeare and poetry in particular, and have always enjoyed communicating that enthusiasm to other people, helping them to develop understanding, confidence, appreciation and a love of language. I have an MA degree in English from Cambridge University and was an IGCSE examiner for the Cambridge International Examinations Board.

My early background in retail management, several years at director level in international advertising, then thirty years as a teacher, with theatre running as a constant thread throughout my life, all combine to make me a particularly effective communicator.

As well as offering private tuition, I also run school drama workshops, direct plays, and work as a freelance writer/editor and voice-over. I have been involved in over fifty theatrical productions - acting or directing - as well as giving regular readings and public presentations.

Availability: I am currently available to teach at my home during most weekday day-times and some Saturday mornings.

Experience: I have been a Head of English and Drama in independent schools for thirty years and am regarded as a charismatic and inspirational teacher. I have many years` experience of Drama in general and Shakespeare in particular on and off stage (studying, teaching, acting and directing). I am also an IGCSE examiner for the Cambridge International Examinations Board.

Having lived and worked professionally for several years in France, I am fluent in French and can also offer coaching in French literature and language.
