I obtained my PhD in Genetics at the Institute of Cancer Research in London, having graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a BSc Hons, also in Genetics. For three years I worked as a Patent Attorney in Biotechnology and Medical Technologies until I decided on a change of career direction towards private tutoring.
I love biology and I enjoy explaining it and bringing it to life. I`ve worked as a Science Explainer both at the Natural History Museum in London and at the Centre for Life in Newcastle. In both jobs it was necessary for me to inspire and educate visitors who didn`t necessarily want to be educated, so I developed excellent science communication skills.
I really enjoy tutoring and 90% of my students go up by at least one grade point. I look forward to hearing from you!
