 Biology (a-level)

I am currently doing a postgraduate course with the Biosciences department of Exeter University based in Cornwall. I have worked in Wales and Italy as a qualified teacher in state and proivate educati respectively. I have through my teaching experiences acquired a set of skills including excellent communication, numeracy and I.C.T skills. In combination with my interactive teaching strategies, kinaesthetic approaches to learning, and high levels of enthusiasm and commitment, I have successfully helped several students achieve their goals in Science through private tuition.
I have taught various science based programs from KS3 to KS5 including Higher Level I.B Biology and A-Level Biology. I am passionate about the Science in general and have both studied and taught Physics, Chemistry and Biology to a high degree. However my forte is Biology having achieved an honors degree in Genetics in Bristol before achieving a distinction on a P.G.C.E with Cardiff University.

Availability: Weekday evenings from 7pm and between 9-5 most weekends. There is a degree of flexibility to these times.

Experience: 2010-2011 I was responsible for teaching Chemistry, Biology and Physics in the Middle School at the private English International School of Padova in Italy. I also delivered higher level I.B Biology and Middle School Mathematics.
Summer 2010 Teaching children between the ages of 8-15 at Mill on the Brue Summer camp in Somerset, England. This was a temporary summer position heavily involved in Key skills and team building activities.
2010-2011 Teaching placement during the PGCE in Coleg Morgannwg, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Wales. I was responsible for collaborating with colleagues for the effective delivery of Biology, Key skills, Environmental Science and Scientific Practical techniques for a spectrum of program criteria including Access, HND, BTEC and A-Levels.

Qualifications: 2011 - Exeter University, Cornwall campus. I am currently doing a postgraduate course in Evolutionary and Behavioral Ecology.

I have an upper class 2:1 in BSc (Hons) Genetics.

Also an ancillary European Computer Driving License.
